C’arch Architecture + Design
Proposal for the Tanarimba private residence emphasizes on minimal ecological footprint and environmental sensitivity for the longevity of both dwelling and jungle of Bentong. Its architecture is defined as elevated, interconnecting pavilions with a redefinition of the tropical house.
The pavilions are clustered around a central entrance court and further create pockets of internal gardens with respect to existing trees. Deep roof overhangs, openings and screens, outdoor decks, verandahs, terraces and lanais are incorporated as tropical design approaches to shelter away from external conditions.
All components are elevated off the ground for moisture control, subsequently mimicking a character of the jungle
